Extensive experience in project management makes James R. Washington, Jr. a highly respected architectural professional with more than 27 years of experience to his credit. Mr. Washington is a 1970 graduate of Southern University's School of Architecture. He began his career at CRS, one of the nation's largest and most respected architectural firms. From CRS, he worked for a single-man firm in Hawaii where his designs influenced several beachfront developments. After contributing his project management skills to the local firm, Perkins and James, Mr. Washington became Vice-President of Hewitt-Washington & Associates in 1978. His management style has resulted in the firm's proven ability to complete a variety of educational and institutional projects as scheduled and within budget. Mr. Washington has served as principal in charge for multimillion-dollar projects for the State of Louisiana. Additionally, he served as principal in charge for the $95 million Ernest N. Morial Convention Center Phase III Expansion. He is a registered architect in three states including Louisiana, Mississippi and Georgia. Additionally, he holds an NCARB certificate. Mr. Washington has received numerous awards and commendations. Most recently, he and his partner were awarded Golden Hammers by the Mayor's Office of Housing and Neighborhood Development.
