OVERVIEW

More than 37 years professional experience has established Lonnie Hewitt, Jr., as an accomplished in the Gulf States Region. Mr. Hewitt’s expertise in the renovation and design of educational and institutional facilities contributes to the firm’s success.

Projects that Mr. Hewitt has managed include the Renovations to Washington Heights Housing Development, Dryades YMCA New Facilities, Louis Armstrong International Airport Long Term Parking Garage and principal planner for New Orleans Neighborhood Planning – Planning Coordination for Planning District 6.

As principal-in-charge of the Southern University in Baton Rouge Master Plan Project, Mr. Hewitt contributed his talents to produce a 10 year plan for the expansion and physical improvements of Southern University, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the largest African-American land grant institution. This project received the “Outstanding Planning Merit Award” from the Louisiana Chapter of American Planning Association.

Mr. Hewitt is currently serving on the Community Advisory Group for the City of New Orleans. This committee is responsible for preparing a Master Plan and Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance in the ongoing effort to rebuild New Orleans.
